Man injured in early-morning shooting on Carolina Beach Road

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A 33-year-old man was injured in a shooting early Sunday morning on Carolina Beach Road, according to the Wilmington Police Department.

WPD officers were in the area around 2:30 a.m. when they heard gunshots nearby. Officers responded and found the man suffering from a gunshot wound in the 2200 block of Carolina Beach Road.

He was taken to a hospital for treatment and was reported to have non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing.
