Chase opens first Wilmington-area branch in Hampstead

HAMPSTEAD, NC (WWAY) — Chase has opened its first bank branch in the greater Wilmington area and plans to add three more locations in the region by 2027.

The new branch is located at 17102 U.S. Highway 17 in Hampstead.

Chase says it plans to open additional branches in Calabash, Landfall and Ogden. The company expects the Calabash location, at 9754 Ocean Highway West in Calabash Commons, to open in early 2027.

The Hampstead branch includes personal and business banking services, home lending and wealth management. It also has a drive-through ATM.

The opening marks Chase’s latest expansion in North Carolina. The company opened its first branch in the state in Chapel Hill in 2019 and says it now has more than 60 branches statewide.

Chase says it has hired more than 1,300 people in North Carolina since entering the state.

The company has been expanding its branch network nationally, with a goal of increasing access to in-person banking services.
