Rising tides flood East Ocean View streets as residents brace for more water
NORFOLK, VA (13News Now) — Residents in Norfolk’s East Ocean View neighborhood are once again dealing with significant tidal flooding as a nor’easter continues to push water into low-lying streets near the Chesapeake Bay and Little Creek.
Along 19th Bay Street and Pleasant Avenue, neighbors say water repeatedly moved into the neighborhood during the storm, flooding roads, trapping vehicles and raising concerns about impacts to homes.
Mark Visconti, who lives in the area, said the flooding worsens when high tides reach certain levels.
“When we get the high tides, anything over three feet, it starts coming out of the drains over here,” Visconti said.
