NEW HANOVER COUNTY (WWAY) — The New Hanover County Technical Review Committee held a special meeting Wednesday to reconsider the conditionally approved site plan for the controversial Hilton Bluffs development.

The 1,800-home Sledge Forest development submitted its plan March 10, and the county conditionally approved it.

But County Manager Chris Coudriet later ordered the Technical Review Committee to revisit it after a consent agreement removed two of the plan’s three access points.

During Wednesday’s meeting, some residents called on the county to require a new, complete site plan and a new traffic analysis in light of the changes.

The Technical Review Committee will continue its review. The committee made no vote or decision Wednesday, and there is no current timeline for when it will reach a decision.
