Ocean Isle Beach Pier closed pending engineer inspection

OCEAN ISLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — The Ocean Isle Beach Pier is temporarily closed to the public until an engineer can inspect the structure.

According to an update issued at 6:20 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, an engineer is expected to arrive within one to three days.

The pier structure will remain closed to the public until the inspection takes place.

The Pierhouse will remain open during the closure.

Officials have not provided a reason for the inspection or announced when the pier may reopen.
