BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) — Brunswick Community College has partnered with North Carolina Central University to provide students with additional opportunities to transfer to a four-year university and pursue bachelor’s degrees.

BCC is one of eight North Carolina community colleges joining NCCU’s Eagle Connect initiative, which offers eligible students guaranteed admission to the university and additional support during the transfer process.

Through the partnership, eligible BCC students will have their $50 NCCU application fee waived and receive assistance with course selection and early registration opportunities.

Students may also qualify for transfer scholarships and receive early access to university resources, including campus events, career fairs and academic support services.

“At BCC, we’re always looking for ways to create more opportunities for our students and help them reach their educational goals,” said Dr. David Townsend, BCC’s vice president of academic affairs and chief academic officer. “This partnership provides another clear, supported pathway to a bachelor’s degree, giving students the confidence and resources they need to take that next step.”

The partnership was formalized during a signing ceremony Oct. 14 at the biennial North Carolina Community College System Conference. Townsend represented BCC at the event.

BCC offers several associate degree programs designed for students planning to transfer to four-year institutions, including Associate in Arts, Associate in Science and Associate in Engineering programs.
