Holden Beach to host Barktoberfest dog costume contest and parade

HOLDEN BEACH, NC (WWAY) — The Town of Holden Beach is inviting residents and their four-legged friends to celebrate Halloween with a dog parade and costume contest during Barktoberfest on Friday, Oct. 30.

The event begins at 4:30 p.m. at Bridgeview Park, ahead of the town’s Trunk or Treat celebration.

Barktoberfest will feature a short dog parade around the block, a dog costume contest and opportunities for fall-themed pictures.

The event gives residents an opportunity to bring their dogs out for Halloween activities before the evening’s Trunk or Treat festivities.

The town previously requested that participants preregister by Oct. 17 by emailing Christy Ferguson.

That preregistration deadline has passed. The announcement does not specify whether late registrations or walk-up participants will be accepted.

The event is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 30, at 4:30 p.m. at Bridgeview Park in Holden Beach.
