Haunted car wash in Wilmington to raise money for local cat rescue

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Drivers in Wilmington can get their cars cleaned while experiencing a few Halloween scares during a haunted car wash fundraiser benefiting a local cat rescue.

Mako Express Car Wash, located at 3819 Carolina Beach Road, is hosting the event on Oct. 23, 24, 30 and 31 from 7 to 10 p.m. each night.

The Halloween-themed fundraiser will feature a car wash experience with spooky characters who may surprise drivers as they make their way through.

Admission costs $25 and includes a car wash package valued at $30, featuring deep cleaning, waxing and a shine.

According to organizers, 100% of the proceeds will be donated to All 4 Cats Rescue, a local no-kill cat rescue serving New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender counties.

The event offers residents an opportunity to celebrate Halloween while supporting the rescue’s work with cats in southeastern North Carolina.

The haunted car wash begins Friday, Oct. 23, and continues Saturday, Oct. 24, before returning the following weekend on Friday, Oct. 30, and Halloween night, Saturday, Oct. 31.

All four events run from 7 to 10 p.m. at Mako Express Car Wash on Carolina Beach Road.
