WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Get ready for an extra hour of sleep this weekend as daylight saving time comes to an end.

Clocks will fall back one hour at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, marking the return to standard time.

That means when the clock strikes 2 a.m., it will turn back to 1 a.m., giving everyone an extra hour to sleep or enjoy some Halloween movies.

The time change will bring brighter mornings and earlier sunsets as the days continue to grow shorter heading into winter.

Most smartphones, computers and other connected devices will automatically adjust to the time change. However, clocks on appliances, in vehicles and around the home may need to be changed manually.

Daylight saving time will begin again Sunday, March 14, 2027, when clocks move forward one hour.

So before heading to bed Saturday night, remember to turn your clocks back one hour and enjoy that extra sleep!
