Man wanted for Whiteville stabbing arrested in Brunswick County

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) –  The man wanted for stabbing a woman on Nance Street has been arrested in Brunswick County.

Hal Lowder, Public Information Officer for the City of Whiteville, says James Edward McKamey is now behind bars.

On Tuesday, police say he stabbed a woman multiple times on Nance Street.  She drove herself to the hospital and is recovering.  McKamey ran off.

Later that day, 51-year-old Nancy Greer was found dead in her home.   Her white Subaru was missing.

Lowder says the white Subaru has been found, but there is no word yet on whether these two crimes are related.
