Adult novelty business takes down signs

WILMINGTON — A local business that’s been causing controversy is still up and running, but with an important change.

Last week some parents complained about guilty pleasures opening so close to the daycare their children attend on 23rd Street.

The City of Wilmington cited the adult novelties store for putting up signs advertising the business.

Guilty Pleasures was also cited for operating a retail store in a restricted area. Fifty-eight hours after the citations were issued the business owners complied and took down the signs that violated City ordinances.

They still have one week left to appeal the retail store issue.
