Adults and kids enjoy ninth annual Touch-a-Truck
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — If you saw fire trucks around the Independence Mall, you don’t need to worry. The Junior League of Wilmington was holding their ninth annual touch-a-truck event.
Touch-A-Truck is meant to be be an educational community event. Children can see and touch heavy machinery and meet the people who build, protect and serve the Wilmington community.
It gives kids another perspective and lets them experience what it’s like behind these big wheels.
“They get excited to, you know, really get in the vehicle. They never really get that opportunity. Sometimes they can, but this- it’s just such a great experience for the community and for families to come out here,” Touch-A-Truck Chair Rachel Jacobs said.
Kids saw 60 different vehicles, including police, fire and rescue trucks, trash trucks, a bus, boat, limousine and more.
