Airlie Gardens Oyster Roast coming

If you like oysters, there is a way to get your fill and help support one of North Carolina’s natural treasures.

Tickets are on sale for Airlie Gardens annual low country Oyster Roast October 17th. Proceeds from the event go to supporting Airlie’s environmental education program.

Airlie Gardens director Jim McDaniel says there is plenty to do after you enjoy all the oysters and barbeque you can eat.

“After the meal we dance the rest of the night away. We have the Imitations, which is a fabulous local dance band. They are tremendous. They draw such a big crowd. The atmosphere is good, too. It’s underneath the Airlie oak. It’s just a really nice fall evening.” said McDaniel

Tickets for the oyster roast are $75 each. They are available at Airlie Gardens at 300 Airlie Drive in Wilmington. You can also get them by sending a self addressed stamped envelope with your payment to Airlie Gardens.
