Airport officials encourage use of TSA PreCheck

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) —  Airport officials are encouraging travelers to enroll in TSA PreCheck to make the flying process a little shorter.

TSA PreCheck pre-screens flyers and saves them time with an expedited security process. ILM Deputy Director Gary Broughton said it’s made his travels less stressful.

“I can tell you from experience that I’ve breezed through most of the PreCheck lines, even the long lines,” Broughton said. “There’s not as much to have to divest of, so it makes the process a lot quicker.”

Brougthon said, of the two security lines at ILM, one is dedicated to PreCheck passengers. The fee to sign up is $85 for five years and can be done at a local office here in Wilmington.
