Alert: Possible money scam

The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office is alerting citizens of a possible scam that may be occurring in our area.

The scam involves a white male and a white female approaching citizens asking for money for a sick or injured family member and that the money is needed for gas.

The suspects are possibly driving a black Mazda. Citizens approached by these individuals are asked to contact the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office at 910-798-4200.
