Alleged drug dealer charged in overdose death
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — An alleged drug dealer is charged with involuntary manslaughter after a deadly heroin overdose.
36-year-old Michael Tant faces several charges including involuntary manslaughter.
The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office says they responded to a heroin overdose in the Kings Grant area on March 3.
Deputies found a 30-year-old man dead at a home on Wood Sorrell Road.
Investigators say they determined Tant sold the drug to the overdose victim.
Tant is being held under a $270,000 bond.
