Alleged sexual assault criminal arrested

The New Hanover County Sherriff’s Office has arrested a man in connection with an alleged sexual assault that occurred this week.

William Chambers-Spivey is charged with statutory rape. The victim’s parents contacted detectives last month about possible inappropriate behavior that was occurring between the victim and the suspect.

Spivey is being held on $50,000 dollars bond in the New Hanover County Jail.
