Alzheimer’s Walk this weekend
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — You can brave the cold and walk for a good cause this weekend. Alzheimer’s North Carolina has been around for 28 years helping families and people dealing with the disease.
The Alzheimer’s Walk helps raise awareness and educates people about Alzheimer’s. This weekend is not the only time you can help in the fight against the disease.
“We are always looking for volunteers to help us,” Jennifer Langley, a volunteer helping organize the walk, said. “Right now here locally there’s three of us that are running the event with the help of our sponsors up in Raleigh, so we’re hoping to get more folks locally aware of what’s going on and being able to come out and help us next year.”
The walk is Saturday at the Carolina Beach Lake. Registration is at 8 a.m. The walk begins at 10 a.m.
