An American Idol will headline Azalea Festival

The headline concert for the 2009 North Carolina Azalea Festival has just been announced! This year, American Idol winner David Cook will be playing at Trask Coliseum on April 2nd. He entered the Billboard charts at number three with his self-titled album. His first single "Light On" dominated the AOL charts for eight weeks at number one. Azalea Festival President Sherman Criner said, "Obviously there's a lot of people out there that enjoy American Idol, and I think he's got a strong following… I think they'll come out and have a good time and enjoy David Cook and enjoy the festival." You can get tickets at the Azalea Festival website and they are also available at the Azalea Festival office on Oleander Drive. Tickets are 45 dollars, plus a five dollar mailing fee.
