Americans for Prosperity host health care forum

Health care is a major issue here in the Port City. Americans for Prosperity hosted a health care forum where guest speaker Tracy Walsh addressed the media.

As a cancer survivor, Walsh said she had the option of choosing her treatments. She said with a public-run government option, the choice of treatment might be up to bureaucrats.

“It needs to be a woman’s choice between her and her doctor and not a government panel that says we’ve studied it and the treatment and this is what you will have,” Walsh said.

The Obama administration has said if you are pleased with your health care provider, you can stick with it.

Walsh said it will still come down to economics, where a cheaper government option will force private companies out of the market.
