America’s Next Top Model Returns to Cape Fear
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The search is on for America’s next top model.
A casting call for the popular show you can watch on The Cape Fear CW is coming back to the area.
Hundreds of contestant hopefuls lined the block last year for the chance to be a part of the internationally broadcast reality competition America’s Next Top Model.
With such great success, this is the second time the Cape Fear CW and producers with America’s Next Top Model have come to this area looking for talent. Contestants from last year like model Lindsey Carrier say keep one thing in mind; keep it simple.
“Jeans and a tank top with heels. Clean face, minimal makeup,” Carrier said.
As Carrier knows, after filling out all the proper forms, a quick walk and interview in front of a panel could change your career.
“After I did the top model thing, I got signed with an agent in February,” Carrier said.
She said just being in the environment was a great experience. Carrier said she loved the booths and boutiques represented, all while getting to meet other girls in the modeling industry.
But girls aren’t the only thing the show is looking for. Last season host Tyra Banks added guys to the competition. Derrick Boston is just beginning his modeling career, he says last year he went into the casting call with very little experience.
“It really honestly did wonders for me and my career,” Boston said. “It gave me a lot of confidence, it pushed me in the right direction and here I am today continuing to chase my dream because of it.”
Both models say they’re looking forward to the upcoming casting call.
The Cape Fear CW has not announced the location but it is planned to take place the first weekend in January.
