Annual WWII ‘SOS’ breakfast planned
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Southeastern North Carolina’s World War II Remembered Group will host its annual WWII-style SOS breakfast on September 23 at the New Hanover County Senior Resource Center, 2222 South College Road.
The catered event features the wartime soldiers’ and sailors’ traditional cream chipped beef on toast, will be served at 8:30 a.m.
The public is invited.
SOS is the slang acronym ascribed to the meal, loved by a few, reluctantly eaten by many. For the “faint of heart,” scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, toast, and juice will also be served.
