Another case of rabies?

New Hanover County is testing another raccoon for rabies. Employees at the Tidal Market on the corner of Wrightsville and Greenville avenues said they saw a raccoon near the front entrance acting erratically.

Wilmington Police responded and shot the animal.

New Hanover County Animal Control is testing it. Prior to this, there have been seven confirmed cases of rabies in the county.

The next free rabies clinic for the county will be on Saturday, May 16th at the Ogden Fire Department from 1:00 to 3:00.
