App launches campaign to raise money for Make-A-Wish

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — How would you like to make wishes come true and maybe see your own dreams realized?

ALIST, a charitable fundraising app, is partnering with Make-A-Wish for the $10K for NC Wishes campaign. The fundraising effort is geared toward granting wishes for kids in the Wilmington area.

ALIST says donations to $10K for NC Wishes will allow Make-A-Wish Eastern NC to help more children with life-threatening medical conditions experience the powerful, and
oftentimes, life-changing impact of a wish come true.

Right now there are 350 children waiting for their one-true wish in the Wilmington area with an average cost of granting one child’s wish at $7,500.

The $10K for NC Wishes campaign will run until June 19. Donations, and support, to the month-long campaign, through ALIST’s charitable app, will enter donors into a drawing to win prizes from six local businesses.

By donating any amount to the Make-A-Wish campaign on ALIST’s app, donors will be entered to win a Bald Head Island helicopter tour for two people from High Tide Helicopters and four tickets to Jungle Rapids water park.

The top donor of $10K for NC Wishes, through ALIST’s app, will win two tickets to see Tim McGraw and Faith Hill at the PNC Arena on June 22 from Sunrise Broadcasting and a three-hour private charter for six people from Shamrock Sailing.

People who would like to support the campaign can also repost the campaign video on ALIST’s Facebook page for a chance to win a $50 gift card from Bluewater Waterfront
Grill and Whole Foods.

“We are incredibly proud of our coastal roots,” ALIST CMO and co-founder Moria Rooney said in a release. “That’s why it’s so important for us to make an impact in the place that has helped shaped who we are. $10K for NC Wishes is just another opportunity to bring our Wilmington community together for a greater good.”
