Applications available for Sheriff’s Citizens Academy

The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office is taking applications for its next Citizens Academy. Classes start January 19 and run each Tuesday evening through March 23.

Participants will be exposed to many different aspects of law enforcement and the criminal justice system. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have no criminal record and be in reasonably good health to take walking tours.

Applications are due January 4. You can pick one up at the Sheriff’s Office or get one online at www.NewHanoverSheriff.com.
