Armed robbery, kidnapping suspect caught in New York returned to Brunswick County

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) – The final suspect accused of breaking into an Ocean Isle Beach home and robbing the people inside is now in the Brunswick County Jail.

Jeffery Leon Collins, 38, faces several charges, including second degree kidnapping, larceny, first degree burglary, and possession of stolen goods.

Deputies say Collins conspired with Rostin Bromell and Stephanie Collins to break into a home in the 5500 block of Beach Drive.

It happened in August. Two people were inside at the time. According to arrest warrants, the suspects stole iphones, laptops, jewelry, purses, medication and other items.

Bromell and Collins were arrested in early December.

The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office says Collins was arrested in New York on December 12, but was just transferred to Brunswick County.
