Armed robbery suspect could be involved in crimes in several towns

TABOR CITY, NC (WWAY) — Tabor City Police say they’ve arrested a man for a pair of armed robberies in town, and they say he may be involved in several more in other places.

Tabor City Police Chief Donald Dowless says James Bellamy is in jail under $700,000 bond in connection with a liquor store robbery a couple weeks ago in town, as well as the robbery of a gas station.

Dowless says investigators believe Bellamy may be the suspect in a robbery in Whiteville and another in Fair Bluff. Dowless says Bellamy could be looked at for crimes in another state, as well.

Dowless says Columbus County deputies arrested Bellamy Monday on warrants for the Tabor City crimes.
