Arrest made after three people shot in Burgaw
BURGAW, NC (WWAY) – Three people are recovering from a shooting Saturday night in Burgaw.
Burgaw police say around 8:15 p.m., they heard gunshots in the area of Seven Oaks Apartments on Progress Drive. Officers spotted a black vehicle speeding away. Police say the vehicle was taking people who had been shot to the hospital.
Two people were taken to Pender Hospital and one was flown to New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
As of yesterday, all victims were in stable condition.
Police say a Pender County Sheriff’s deputy spotted the suspect, Thomas Frederick Green, 31, running from the crime scene.
He’s charged with 3 counts of Assault w/ a Deadly Weapon w/ Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury, 1 count of Discharge of a Weapon into an Occupied Dwelling or Vehicle, and 1 count of Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.
Green is in jail under a $750,000 bond. His first court appearance is tomorrow.
