Arrest made in CFCC sex assault

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Investigators with the Wilmington Police Department said the man already in jail on prostitution charges has now been linked to a sex assault reported at CFCC.

A WPD spokeswoman said Jahreese Melquan Jones, 18, was charged yesterday with second-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping. With additional charges from other instances, Jones bond is now over $1 million, according to jail records.

Investigators said Jones pulled a woman into a stairwell and assaulted her on the downtown campus in November.
