Art class for disabled big hit in Wilmington
WILMINGTON — An art class designed especially for adults with disabilities is becoming a big hit in Wilmington. Art From the Heart started last year when a volunteer realized there were no group classes offered for disabled adults.
She organized a small group for an art session. When more people than expected showed up, she decided to start a formal class.
Caregivers say the class is beneficial.
Caregiver Shaquala Bell said, “They can show their creativity and express how they feel through art.”
Caregiver Kim Morris said, “We can get out into the community and not be stuck at work and in the house all the time.”
