Art for the Masses in downtown Wilmington

More than 100 regional artists showcased their work on Second Street in Wilmington today.

Artists brought their work and sold it for $250 or less. The event, called ‘Art for the Masses,’ was sponsored by Creative Wilmington. Organizers say they hope to get more original art work out into the community. Some artists that participated found the environment inspirational.

“I’m picking up a lot of different mediums from people. I’m learning new things by coming here,” artist Sharon Kane said. “There are new things I’d like to try.”

This was Wilmington’s fifth Art for the Masses showcase in the past few years. The Executive Director of Creative Wilmington says he hopes to make it an annual event.
