Asheville business launches Pride Month art contest to benefit LGBTQ advocacy nonprofit
ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — June is Pride Month, and an Asheville popcorn business is launching an art contest to benefit a local LGTBQ advocacy nonprofit.
Starting June 1, Western North Carolina residents of all ages can submit a sample of their artwork to Poppy Handcrafted Popcorn, a local gourmet popcorn company.
The company will choose their top three favorite artists and interview them about their vision.
Once they’ve picked a winner, the artist will collaborate with the business’ leaders to create a design for their Pride Artist Bag, which will launch in November. $2 from the sale of every Pride Artist Bag will go towards the Campaign for Southern Equality (CSE).
