Ashley’s Adventure: Springbrooke Farms Horsedrawn Tours

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY NEWS) – Take a step back in time while exploring Downtown Wilmington.

Springbrook Farms offers horsedrawn tours year round.

Tours run from 10am-10pm daily. They meet at Water and Market Streets.

Tours typically take about 30 minutes.

Whether you take a carriage, coach or trolley, you’ll see and learn about historic Wilmington during the narrated adventure.

“It’s just the old town coming back to life and you’re riding back in time,” said owner John Pucci.

Pucci rescues horses too slow for farming, before they hit the auction block.

“They live on our farm,” he said. “We bring them in for about a week and half out of the month.”

Over the past 30 years, Pucci says he’s rescued 18 horses.

Tickets from his tours help feed his current horses and rescue future ones.

It’s $12 for adults and $5 for kids under 12.
