Association Candidate Questionaire
Local lobbyists are using an interesting way to decide who it’ll endorse in the upcoming local elections. The Cape Fear Home Builders Association has candidates seeking its endorsement fill out a survey with questions that range from inquiries about things they’d like to do if elected, and economic development questions.
Officials with The Cape Fear Home Builders Association say mostly they look for someone who focuses on general quality of life issues including the environment and strengthening the tax base.
“We’ve got questions out there like cite three reason why you think you are the best candidate for this particular office… we’ve got questions out there like what untapped economical resources do you think are out there for the city of Wilmington,” Donna Giradot of the Cape Fear Home Builders Association said.
The deadline for completed questionnaires passed Friday at 5 p.m. The committee will decide on who they’ll endorse, come October, next week.
