Attempted kidnapping at Lowe’s Food in Monkey Junction

New Hanover County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating an attempted kidnapping off Carolina Beach Road.

It happened just before 7:00 p.m. Sunday night at the Lowe’s Foods in Monkey Junction.

A woman was approached by a man with a weapon. Investigators said he tried to rob and kidnap her.

The victim fought back and the suspect took off. The victim was taken to the hospital for an injury she suffered to her hand.

The suspect was last seen in the area of Wal-mart and is described as a short, stocky, possibly Hispanic, man.
