Sydney Bouchelle is a small town girl from North Wilkesboro, North Carolina. From the very beginning, Sydney dreamed of becoming a reporter. She began her career in fifth grade where she shared the latest news and happenings at C.C. Wright Elementary School on the Inhouse Broadcast Crew. Although she loves her hometown, her heart led her to the opposite side of the state for college. Sydney attended the University of North Carolina Wilmington as a first generation college student. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies in May 2019. While in school, Sydney anchored the weekly student-run broadcast of Seahawk Central News and joined the sisterhood of Alpha Phi International Fraternity. Sydney believes journalism is about sharing stories and giving voices to those who cannot be heard, educating the world, opening eyes to new ideas and promoting knowledge. She looks forward to telling the stories of the Cape Fear Region while at WWAY. Sydney invites you to follow her on social media at @sydbouchelletv. You can reach her at sbouchelle@wwaytv3.com
