Award-winning author to hold workshop at UNCW on social change
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Award-winning author Bettina Love is scheduled to hold a community workshop on teaching, social change and intersectionality on March 14 at UNCW.
Love, author of ‘Hip Hop’s Li’l Sistas Speak: Negotiating Hip Hop Identities and Politics in the New South’, is an associate professor at the University of Georgia. According to UNCW, “Her research focuses on the ways urban youth negotiate Hip-Hop music and culture to form social, cultural and political identities. Love also explores new ways of thinking about urban education and culturally relevant pedagogical approaches for urban learners.”

The community workshop begins at 5 p.m. in the Wrightsville Beach Room in the UNCW Fisher Student Center.
