Azalea Festival organizers enlist help to find volunteers

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Tens of thousands of people enjoy the Azalea Festival's concerts, fairs and special events each year and organizers need your help to make it happen this year.

The Cape Fear Volunteer Center is partnering with Azalea Festival organizers in an effort to find the hundreds of the volunteers they need. Annie Anthony, director of the Cape Fear Volunteer Center, said those who want to put in some work at the festival will be able to find a specific job that will fit them.

"You can help with the command center. You can help with the parade. You can help with logistics. There's really no end to the number of things we need help with this year,” Anthony said.

Anthony said they could also use some help cleaning up the weekend prior to the big festival during the Azalea Sweep.
