Azalea Garden Tour: Bellamy Mansion

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The historic Bellamy Mansion on Market Street is known for it’s daily home tours. However, the house isn’t the only sight to see on the property.

With formal gardens surrounding the entire home and multiple azalea bushes in full bloom, it’s the perfect blend of history and beauty.

This is the first time in seven years the Bellamy Mansion is in the Azalea Garden Tours.

Guests can sip on wine and listen to live music played on a harp. Executive director Gareth Evans says it will be an elegant place to stop and explore.

“We will have a garden map for them so they can view and see everything that’s planted here. Also a bloom calendar, so they know when everything is in bloom,” Evans says.

Portions of the house will be open for touring, including an art gallery upstairs that features local artists.

Volunteers will be available to answer any questions. Azalea Belles will also be on site to visit and guide guests around the gardens.
