WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Resh family garden at 811 Johns Orchard Lane has it all.

This stop on this weekend’s Azalea Garden Tour is a short walk to the Intracoastal Waterway and has an in-ground pool for a relaxing swim. The perimeter is decorated with daffodils, hollies and camellias. Azaleas are just around the corner.

It’s a garden built from scratch, and after ten years, it’s purpose is to attract tourists of all types.

“A lot of the plants that we do put in are to draw more birds and wildlife into the yard so we can watch them,” said garden owner Linda Resh. “So we have the feeders out, and I have a lot of berry bushes and different aspects for the hummingbirds also.”

And just in case the wildlife gets an appetite, there is an herb garden. The Reshes grow everything from basil to oregano to thyme.

The Cape Fear Garden Club’s Azalea Garden Tour runs Friday through Sunday around Wilmington.
