WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The yard at 313 Cavalier Drive may be common property, but garden owner Signa Stalvey found a way to make it her own.

She and her husband invested in an idea that would season a small space. Hundreds of violas, pansies, dafodils and azaleas later, their garden matured.

Stalvey considers the project therapeutic. She says it’s nice to look back and see what you’ve done.

“I put my plants on Velcro,” Stalvey said. “I love to move them about If I don’t like where I first put them or if they didn’t do well.”

Stalvey hopes she inspires people to get out and beautify the area. You may even get an idea from the secret garden she saved just for the tour.

The Cape Fear Garden Club’s Azalea Garden Tour runs Friday through Sunday around Wilmington.
