Barbee Bridge closure prompts Dosher service changes

SOUTHPORT, NC (News release) — Effective Monday, October 15, diagnostic and laboratory services at Dosher Medical Plaza, 4222 Long Beach Road, Southport, will relocate to other Dosher locations due to long-planned construction and the temporary closure of Barbee Bridge between Southport and Oak Island:

• The laboratory draw station moves to Dosher Wellness Center, 3009 Medical Plaza Lane, Southport.
• X-ray services will be available at the Wellness Center and Dosher Memorial Hospital.
• Mammography services will be available at the hospital.
• The bone densitometry scanner moves to the hospital and will be recalibrated and tested before going into scheduled service there the week of October 29.

Dosher Medical-Urgent Care remains open at Dosher Medical Plaza 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.

A tenant at this location, Carolina Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Specialists, remains open.

Oak Island and Caswell Beach residents and visitors may call Dosher Wellness Center for appointments, 910-454-1234. Dosher plans to expand services and begin offering walk-in hours at that clinic in November.
