Barfield tops Democratic field for New Hanover County Commission
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Incumbent Jonathan Barfield Jr. finished ahead of his Democratic challengers in the race for New Hanover County Commission Tuesday night. He, along with newcomers Robert Zapple and Robert Murray, will move ahead to the general election in November. Stephen Vosnock finished in fourth place, and will not advance to the fall.
The top three Democrats will take on three Republicans in November. Those six candidates will need to fill three open seats on the commission. At least two of those seats will be newcomers.
Here’s how the Democratic results came in:
