BBB warns against Wilmington BBQ Pits & Smokers business
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Better Business Bureau is raising a red flag about an online retailer based out of Wilmington.
The BBB says they’re received complaints that Caddy Shack Custom BBQ Pits & Smokers does not deliver products, does not respond to customers, and does not communicate about refunds.
The BBB says customers allege that once they ordered their custom smokers from the company website, payment is required in advance. Customers have lost at least $1,600 each.
According to a news release, the BBB received three complaints filed between October 16, 2017 and December 4, 2017. All complaints have been unanswered. The BBB says it attempted to contact Caddy Shack via email and U.S. mail to notify the company of these issues to get a resolution. A letter the BBB mailed came back as returned/undeliverable.
As of January 11, BBB says it still has not received a response.
The BBB says to make sure you know your rights when shopping online. It is Federal Law that orders be shipped by the date promised, or if not delivery time was set, within 30 days.
