Bellamy Mansion shows thanks to first responders

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) —  It was an afternoon of good food and appreciation as the Bellamy Mansion hosted a day for first responders.

The public was invited to share Saturday afternoon with the men and women who keep our area safe. There was beer and BBQ thanks to Good Hops and Mission BBQ.

Director Gareth Evans says the event also is a thank you the folks who saved the site from a fire back in 1972.

“You can actually see where it go damaged inside,” said Evans. “Fire and police are invaluable. They are completely invaluable to have them around and we appreciate all that they do.”

All proceeds collected benefit the Wilmington Firefighters Foundation, the Wilmington Police Recreation Association, and the Bellamy Mansion Museum.
