Belville teacher returns to work after suspension

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The teacher at Belville Elementary School suspended for three days on Monday is back on the job today.

A Brunswick County Schools Spokeswoman says Laura Patten, 41,  was reinstated today after a thorough investigation by Human Resources.

Patten was on paid administrative leave after she was arrested last week on a misdemeanor stalking charge.

Patten is scheduled to be in court June 8.
