Belville candidates discuss drainage issues and tax increases
Belville voters had the chance to meet the candidates Tuesday night. Residents heard from the hopefuls for mayoral and commission.
Questions ranged from improving infrastructure to improving drainage problems in residential areas, as well as plans to increase taxes to develop a downtown area.
Voters are looking for a candidate who will listen and represent public opinion. “They’re very concerned that they don’t have a voice at the town hall meetings. They’re heard but its brief and dismissed. That’s how they feel. They feel dismissed. And we would like that changed,” said Belville resident Donna Gilstrap.
The North Brunswick Chamber of Commerce hosted the event at Belville Middle School.
