Ben David, ADAs take oath; say goodbye to Jon David

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — For the third time in six years, District Attorney Ben David has been sworn into office. He took an oath this afternoon before a packed courtroom to serve New Hanover and Pender Counties.

Assistant DA’s were sworn in as well, but David had to say goodbye to one of his top assistants: his twin brother Jon. He is District Attorney-elect in Brunswick, Columbus and Bladen Counties.

“In terms of our overall crime-fighting strategy, it’s the same, because it’s the same Constitution,” Ben David said of working with his brother in a new role. “We’re going to have an unprecedented level of coordination. In that respect, it’s a very good thing for this area.”

Jon David gets sworn in across the river January 5.
