Big Talker FM fires morning show host

Curtis Wright says he had no idea Thursday would be his last day.

His show is one of the highest rated morning-drive shows in Wilmington.

Sea-Comm, Inc., Vice president and General Manager said in a news release today that, “a replacement for Mr. Wright will be announced within days. Curtis has built a large audience and filling his shoes will be a challenge to the person that takes his place at the microphone of the Big Talker FM in the mornings.”

Wright says he’s optimistic about the future.

“It didn’t give a reason,” said Wright.

“It just said I was terminated and I’m kinda surprised. The Morning Beat with Curtis Wright will go on,” he said. “It’s not owned by Sea Comm Media and I’m looking forward to the next adventure.”

Wright told us that Sea-Comm Inc., has been having financial problems for awhile.
