Big Talker host Curtis Wright apologizes for actions, lawsuit over

The libel lawsuit filed by the state Republican Party chair against a Wilmington radio host is over.

Tom Fetzer sued Big Talker FM host Curtis Wright in June after taking exception with an e-mail Wright sent to county Republican chairs. The e-mail included a letter by an anonymous author that claimed Fetzer is gay.

Late last week Fetzer released a letter from Wright clarifying why Wright sent the original e-mail and apologizing to Fetzer for “any distress” Wright’s actions may have caused. But the controversy may not be over.

In an e-mail over the weekend to WWAY, and other media outlets, Wright claimed Fetzer violated the settlement

Wright told WWAY Monday morning Fetzer was not supposed to say anything more than the agreed upon statement or release the letter. In fact, Wright said his lawyer is checking to see if the letter Fetzer released is the draft Wright agreed to.

Wright also said in the settlement he admits no wrong doing.
